Transmission
Slipping, harsh shifts and shudder rarely fix themselves. We diagnose whether it is fluid, a solenoid, a valve body or the unit itself before recommending anything.

What we look at first
Transmission problems get expensive fast when they are guessed at. A shudder can be a torque converter, worn fluid, a solenoid, an engine misfire being felt through the driveline, or a mount.
Diagnosis comes first: fluid condition, transmission codes, live data on line pressure and shift commands, then a road test to confirm what the data suggested.
Sometimes the honest answer is a service and a solenoid. Sometimes it is a rebuild. You will be told which, and why, before the transmission comes out.
What we actually do
- Fluid condition and level checked properly, at temperature.
- Transmission codes and live shift data read and interpreted.
- Road test to confirm the fault matches the data.
- Service, solenoid and valve body work where that is the real fix.
- Rebuild or replacement coordinated when the unit is genuinely done.
Symptoms worth acting on early
- Slipping or flaring between gears
- Harsh, delayed or hunting shifts
- Shudder at steady cruising speed
- A whine or grinding that changes with gear
- Burnt-smelling or dark fluid
- A transmission warning light or limp mode
