Why injectors need cleaning
A fuel injector is a precision nozzle. Deposits build up on the tip over tens of thousands of miles, and the spray pattern goes from a fine mist to something closer to a dribble.
The engine does not know that. It still commands the same fuel, so one cylinder runs rich while another runs lean — you feel it as a rough idle, a misfire, worse economy and a check engine light.
Cleaning and flow testing tells you which injectors are actually out of spec, so you replace the ones that need it and keep the ones that do not.
What we actually do
- Injectors removed, cleaned and inspected properly rather than treated in the tank.
- Flow tested before and after, so the improvement is measured.
- Spray pattern checked on every injector, not sampled.
- Out-of-spec injectors identified before you buy a whole set.
- New seals and reinstallation, with the engine checked after.
Symptoms that point at injectors
- Rough or uneven idle
- A misfire on one cylinder that keeps coming back
- Fuel economy quietly getting worse
- Hard starting, especially on diesel
- Smoke or a strong fuel smell
- A lean or rich code stored in the computer
