What an engine build is
An engine build means the engine comes apart to the bare block and goes back together with parts chosen for a target. Pistons, rods, bearings, cam, valve springs and machine work all get selected as a set.
The part that decides whether it lasts is measurement. Bearing clearance, ring gap, deck height and torque sequence all get checked and written down during assembly rather than assumed.
We build for a purpose — a street engine, a towing engine and a race engine are three different sets of decisions, and we would rather ask which one you want first.
What we actually do
- Full teardown, inspection and honest report on what is reusable.
- Machine work coordinated and checked before assembly.
- Clearances measured and recorded through the whole build.
- Rotating assembly, cam and valvetrain specced to your power target.
- Break-in and calibration handled here once it is back in the vehicle.
When an engine build is the answer
- Knocking, low oil pressure or heavy blow-by
- Coolant or oil going somewhere it should not
- The stock bottom end is at its limit for your power goal
- A previous build failed and you want to know why
- A classic that deserves doing once, properly
- You are planning boost and the internals will not take it
